Owner, Healing Hearts
After working for many years in the technical field for corporate America, Janet decided it was time to make a change and follow
her heart. She had spent the last few years of the corporate world trying to do both: working part of the week in technology and
using her days off to create a business that fueled her passion. The day came when a choice had to be made and she chose her
dream. She had raised her family and was in a place where she could make that change. Although it took a great leap of faith and
many changes in her personal life, she has never looked back with regret.
Since that time, Janet attended a seminary and became an ordained New Thought Minister. New Thought is a blend of beliefs
centering around Unity, Religious Science and Divine Science. Janet has also taken many classes to expand her knowledge and
benefit the clients in her practice. She became a Certified Hypnotist and has studied Chinese Shamanistic Medicine, Reiki, and
many classes focused on energy, health and our own power of manifestation.
Janet has been involved with metaphysics since the 70s and became much more active in that area in the 80s. Because of a
wonderful mentor, she discovered her intuitive abilities and has used them to provide guidance to others concerning many areas of
their life. Janet is a very strong physical, emotional and spiritual Empath; meaning she can, and does, take on the feelings of physical
ailments or emotional traumas of her clients to help in their healing and clearing process. Janet is Clairaudient (hears messages),
Clairvoyant (sees images), and Clairsentient (feels within the body).
Janet teaches many classes on a variety of metaphysical subjects including intuition, tarot, divination, manifestation, numerology,
sacred ceremonies, and chakras. She taught for 5 years at the SW Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ; 2 years at her wellness
center, The Light Center, in Mesa, AZ, and has given talks at Border’s Books, new age expos, and the Emerging Healers
conference. Janet held the light-hearted monthly Psychic 4 U event in Mesa, AZ, where she and a guest psychic would entertain
people in a group setting with “speed-readings”, numerology, astrology, music and more.
After traveling to Manitou Springs, CO, every summer for 5 years, Janet felt a strong calling to move here and open her own store
and wellness center. By using the manifestation process, the way was created and Healing Hearts opened in February of 2009.
In addition to the services she offers and the classes she instructs, Janet has created a line of Manifestation Kits and Intention Oils,
based on the laws of manifestation. She believes strongly in our power to manifest and create. Janet is also currently working on a
new metaphysical series of paintings.
Janet's beliefs in a nutshell:
"I believe in a Power (I call this power God) that transcends our ability to comprehend and my work is driven by this power, spirit,
trust and faith. I believe there are many paths leading to the same destination. I believe love, understanding and compassion for
everyone is the answer to a happy life. I believe everyone has the ability to manifest and create their perfect life when they
"remember" a few basic principles. I believe everyone has a "gift" of some kind that can help others if they allow themselves to open
to it with trust and faith. I believe all human beings are wonderful but a few of us have just forgotten who we are and what is really
important when we get caught up in the stresses of everyday life. And most of all, I believe everyone has the ability to return to that
wonderful human being we were when we first entered the world."
Karen McCarville
Karen McCarville is a Colorado Springs Native who re-planted herself back here after living in Seattle for 14 years and California
for another 11 years. She has traveled to Tibet, India, Indonesia, lived in Baja California for a number of months and comes from a
wide-variety of work experiences which gives her an ability to relate to almost everyone! She has worked with developmentally
disabled adults, prisoners and their families and lived at the Rosicrucian Fellowship in Oceanside, California, where she worked in
the Astrology and Healing Departments as well as teaching classes in metaphysics and astrology. Her metaphysical studies are
extensive including the I AM studies, the Flower of Life and Merkabah, Rebirthing, Palmistry, Stargate Workshops, the Ascended
Master Teachings and many other modalities. Karen has been doing intuitive and spiritual counseling through astrology for 30+
years. She also will be doing Toe Readings this summer along with chair massages, Reiki, Reflexology and Energy Repatterning.
Karen is Clairaudient and assists clients in finding their own talents and listening to their own Higher Self.
Rocki--Store Mascot
Rocki is a little female squirrel. She showed up at our door at a very young age not too long after our grand opening and has since
become a regular fixture and our store mascot. If the door is closed, she will climb the stairs and look in the window until you notice
her and take her some peanuts. If the door is open and it's quiet inside, she will come right in and head right over to whomever is
working and stand on her hind feet begging for peanuts. She'll take one at a time, tuck it securely in her mouth, take it outside to eat,
and then come back inside for more. If she feels safe, she will even come in and show off her begging talents for shoppers in the
store and occasionally allow them to give her a peanut.
